What is your Chamber
The Grandview Chamber of Commerce is an action organization designed to meet community needs. It is a group of business and professional people who band together to advance goals and objectives of the group.
The Chamber's strength lies in the number and diversity of it's membership. Both large and small businesses from virtually all professions are represented and influence the direction of the Chamber's programs. The members are the Chamber! The more members the Chamber has, the better it can represent the business community.
Who are your Chamber Members?
Chamber of Commerce members are businesses, organizations and individuals concerned with the socioeconomic climate of our community. They have joined together because they know they stand a better chance of getting things done when they speak as one voice.
Who runs the Chamber?
A Board of Directors, elected by the Chamber membership, runs the organization. The Board, serving without pay, sets policies for the Chamber. A President presides over all the Board meetings.
Members often become involved in Chamber activities by working on Comities. These committees range from Newsletter, Event/Fundraising, Finance, Marketing, and Welcome Committee.
What does the Chamber do?
The variety of activities at the Grandview Chamber of Commerce is virtually unlimited, depending on the community needs and the desire and ability of the Chamber to meet those needs. The Chamber's objectives are to help businesses grow, increase job opportunities, educate the business and professional community, and to contribute to the overall economic stability of the community.
Who pays for the Chamber?
The Grandview Chamber of Commerce is financed on a voluntary basis. It's expenses are apportioned among it's membership. The Chamber's revenues are made up of membership investments and non-membership income. Non-dues income consists of any type of revenue not directly associated with membership investment in the present and the future of the community's welfare.
